Seven Seeds. One Formula. Why Every Ingredient in AMAA Earned Its Place.
Read the protein powder ingredients on most tubs and you will need a chemistry degree: isolates, gums, artificial sweeteners, “natural flavours” that are anything but. Read ours and you will need a farm.
Soya beans. Pumpkin seed. Chia seed. Sunflower seed. Flaxseed. Almond. Groundnut. Seven certified organic ingredients, milled whole. That is the complete list — and none of them is filler. Each one was selected for a specific job the others could not do alone. Here is the logic, ingredient by ingredient.
The anchor: soya beans
Every blend needs a backbone, and soybean is one of the few plant proteins that is complete — it supplies all nine essential amino acids your body cannot make itself. That makes it the anchor: whatever else the formula does, the amino acid foundation is covered.
It is also the mission ingredient. Soya beans grows across Nigeria’s Middle Belt in serious volume. Building the formula on it means building on Nigerian agriculture — the protein gap closed with a crop we already grow.
The mineral engine: pumpkin seed and sunflower seed
Pumpkin seed is the quiet overachiever of the formula — among the richest plant sources of iron, zinc, and magnesium. It is the largest single reason our certificate shows 79.1mg of iron per 100g. Iron supports oxygen transport; zinc supports immune function and repair; magnesium is involved in hundreds of processes from muscle recovery to sleep. One seed, three of the minerals Nigerian diets most commonly lack.
Sunflower seed brings vitamin E — the body’s principal fat-soluble antioxidant — alongside healthy fats and more magnesium. It also softens the blend’s texture and taste, which matters when a product must be drinkable every single day.
The omega pair: chia and flax
These two do overlapping work on purpose. Both are leading plant sources of ALA omega-3 fatty acids — the fats most diets under-deliver — and both are dense in the fibre that gives AMAA 14.6g per 100g where whey has zero. Fibre steadies energy release and feeds the gut; omega-3s support heart and brain function.
Why both, then? Because their profiles differ at the margins — chia carries meaningful calcium; flax brings lignans — and because redundancy in the nutrients that matter most is a feature of good formulation, not waste.
The nut pair: almond and groundnut
Almond contributes vitamin E, calcium, and monounsaturated fats — the same fat profile that makes olive oil famous — plus the roundness of flavour that makes the blend taste like food rather than powder.
Groundnut is the ingredient we are proudest to name, because it is the most Nigerian thing in the pouch. Protein-dense, rich in niacin (vitamin B3, which supports energy metabolism), grown across the North in world-class volume — and somehow absent from nearly every protein product sold in this country. Putting groundnut in a certified organic formula is half nutrition, half statement: the answer to Nigeria’s protein gap was in the pyramid-stacked sacks all along.
Seven ingredients is not generosity. It is engineering — each seed covering what the others cannot.
Why a blend beats any single seed
Here is the formulation logic in one paragraph. Most single plant proteins are incomplete — low in one essential amino acid or another. Soybean solves completeness; the six around it reinforce the amino acid profile while each delivering a nutrient portfolio the others lack: pumpkin’s minerals, sunflower’s and almond’s vitamin E, chia’s and flax’s omega-3s and fibre, groundnut’s B vitamins and density. Milled whole, nothing refined away. The result is on our certificate: 50.7g of protein and eighteen nutrients per 100g, every figure independently lab-verified and NAFDAC approved.
That is what protein powder ingredients look like when the answer to “what is in it?” is simply: food.
The standing note: AMAA contains almond and groundnut — two common allergens. If nut allergies are present in your household, this is not the product for you, and we would rather say so plainly. For children, pregnancy, or any medical condition, a healthcare professional should guide your choice.
