Our Story

WE BUILT AMAA BECAUSE REAL FOOD WORKS.

The search for better nutrition led us back to the most obvious place. Not a laboratory. Not a manufacturing plant. A seed.

Whole food. Organic. Unprocessed. Everything the body needs, in the form it was designed to receive it.

That realisation that the answer was always in nature, not in a supplement factory became the founding conviction of AMAA
And once it was clear, it was impossible to build anything else.

The Journey

AMAA began in 2023 not with a finished product, but with a question: what would a protein supplement look like if it were built entirely from whole food, certified organic, and held to independent scientific scrutiny?

What followed was years of formulation work. Testing, adjusting, testing again. Discarding what didn’t perform. Rebuilding from scratch where necessary. Each iteration was assessed not just on taste or texture but on the full nutritional picture; protein density, fibre composition, mineral content, digestibility, and consistency across batches.

At every stage of development, the formula was submitted for independent laboratory analysis. Not once, not as a final sign-off, but throughout the process because the numbers had to be real at every point, not just at the end. That commitment to ongoing scientific verification shaped the product as much as the formulation itself. It also shaped the brand. A company that tests its product repeatedly, before anyone asked it to, is a company that has decided accountability is non-negotiable.

In 2026, AMAA relaunched as a significantly evolved product. Healthier. Leaner. With a richer nutritional profile and broader micronutrient content, confirmed by independent laboratory analysis at a NAFDAC-licensed, ISO-accredited testing facility in Lagos.

The 2026 formula delivers 50.7g protein per 100g alongside 14.6g fibre, 79.1mg iron, and 18 nutrients per serving all from more than seven (7) certified organic whole-food ingredients. It took three years and three reformulations to arrive here. Every iteration was necessary. None of them were wasted. Thank you for staying with us 💚

Why We Published the Numbers

There is a temptation, when you have done something difficult, to simply announce that you have done it.

We chose a different approach.

We submitted our formula to an independent, accredited third-party laboratory. We asked them to test every nutrient. We published every number. The full certificate is publicly available on this website, issued by a NAFDAC-licensed, ISO-accredited testing facility. Protein content verified by the Kjeldahl method, the internationally accepted gold standard for protein determination in food.

We did this because we believe Nigerian consumers deserve brands that show their work. Not brands that tell you to trust them. Brands that give you the evidence and let you decide.

The numbers are what they are: 50.7g protein per 100g. 14.6g fibre. 79.1mg iron over 220% of the daily recommended value. 18 nutrients in a single scoop. Independently verified. Not self-reported.

That is the standard we hold ourselves to. That is the standard we will hold every future batch to.

Our Mission

To make certified organic, whole-food nutrition accessible to every Nigerian — building a healthier, stronger nation through food that is honest, traceable, and genuinely good for the body.

Our Vision

To be Africa’s leading certified organic whole-food nutrition brand — proof that the continent can build world-class food science products from the ground up, for her own people.

Our Purpose

To give Nigerians a genuine whole-food alternative, one built on science, certified by independent authorities, and rooted in the belief that what goes into the body should come from nature, not a chemical process.

What We Believe About Nutrition

The body has always known what it needs.

Long before supplement culture existed, whole foods; seeds, nuts, legumes, grains sustained human health across millennia. The nutrients they contain are not added. They are inherent. The body recognises them because they are real.

AMAA is built on that principle. Not as a reaction to anything. As a return to something. A choice to source nutrition from the ground rather than from a manufacturing process. A decision to preserve what is naturally present rather than isolate a single macro and discard the rest.

When a single 50g scoop delivers 25.4g protein alongside 7.3g fibre, 39.6mg iron, 649.4mg potassium, and 136.5mg magnesium, not because those nutrients were added, but because they were never removed, that is what whole-food nutrition means.

This is not an alternative to conventional nutrition. It is a choice to go deeper.

Nigeria's First

AMAA Organic Proteins is Nigeria’s first NAFDAC-certified, organic, whole-food plant protein brand.

That position was earned through independent laboratory certification, full NAFDAC registration, certified organic sourcing of every ingredient, and three years of formulation work that refused to launch until the product was genuinely the best available.

No equivalent product exists in this market. We intend to keep it that way.
